Akanksha is a Research Fellow at RMI India Foundation, working at the intersection of energy efficiency, thermal comfort, and data-driven decision-making in India’s built environment. Her work focuses on supporting on-the-ground pilots, developing robust data-collection frameworks, and generating actionable insights to improve residential building performance. She advances scalable, evidence-based solutions that support India’s climate and energy goals.

Background
Akanksha has expertise in building energy performance, focusing on energy modelling, thermal comfort assessment, and evaluating performance under real-world conditions. Her work integrates measurement-based and analytical methods to understand energy consumption patterns, indoor environmental quality, and the effectiveness of passive and active design strategies. She is particularly interested in leveraging data to inform design and policy decisions for high-performance buildings.

Before joining RMI India Foundation, Akanksha practised architecture across multiple firms and independent projects, where she contributed to design development, prepared working drawings, and coordinated with clients, consultants, and vendors. She also supported on-site execution, gaining hands-on experience in translating design concepts into built outcomes and navigating real-world construction processes.
