Harsha is a Senior Associate at RMI India Foundation focusing on building cost-effective decarbonisation solutions for the built environment and electricity sectors in India. His work focuses on developing whole-systems solutions to decarbonising India’s building sector and building capacity expansion and dispatch modelling for India’s electricity grid, specifically looking at flexibility indicators and integration scenarios for various emerging technologies.
Background
Harsha graduated from a European double degree dual university master’s program with a major in Sustainable Energy Technology and a minor in entrepreneurship. As a part of his master’s, he has worked with multiple stakeholders in the sustainability sector in Sweden, the Netherlands and Brazil. He has conducted techno-economic analyses of renewable energy technologies and worked on project themes related to building performance simulations, energy flexibility, energy systems modelling, circular economy, energy-water-food nexus and life cycle analysis.
Prior to his master’s, Harsha worked at Larsen & Toubro as a mechanical engineer in the manufacturing industry building hydraulic cylinders for wind turbines, defence equipment, industrial machinery and construction equipment. He is passionate about using advanced technologies to develop sustainable solutions that contribute to society’s greater good.
